When to take RELPAX:

  • Take one RELPAX tablet as soon as you feel migraine pain coming on. You might be tempted not to take RELPAX right away, but do not give your migraine a head start. RELPAX provides the most migraine relief when taken at the first sign of pain. A recent study showed that the number of people who became pain-free within 2 hours almost doubled if they treated their migraine early, when the pain was still mild
  • Cannot take RELPAX right away? Simply take it as soon as you can. You can still get migraine relief
  • Only take RELPAX if you feel a migraine coming on. RELPAX does not prevent a migraine
When to take a second dose of RELPAX

Most people get migraine pain relief after taking one tablet. However, if your migraine improves and then comes back after 2 hours, you can take a second RELPAX tablet. For any attack where you have no response at all to the first tablet, it is important to talk to your doctor first before taking another tablet. Do not take any more than 2 RELPAX tablets within 24 hours.

How to take RELPAX

Simply take the tablet whole, with water. You do not have to take RELPAX with food.

However, some foods such as aged cheese, red wine, and caffeine may trigger migraines. Read more about common food and drink triggers.

It’s also important to know which medications you should not take with RELPAX. You can read a list of those medications by clicking here.

Why it pays to be prepared:
  • Migraines can strike anywhere, at any time, so always keep RELPAX migraine medication with you wherever you go
  • The sooner you take RELPAX, the better it will work
  • Make sure you always have enough RELPAX tablets. Talk to your doctor to get more refills before you run out. That way, you will never be unprepared
